The ELPAC WM220-1 is a large power supply designed for computers. With modifications, this power supply sounds FANTASTIC powering a Squeeze Box 2 or 3. It cannot be used with a DUET Receiver.
This power supply outputs 5 volts. The DUET Receiver requires 9 volts
This unit is a "power brick". It is not a "wall wart" like the ELPAC WM075-1950. It has an AC power cable and DC power cable. It will not take up a lot of room from a power strip.

The ELPAC WM220-1 can sometimes be found on E-Bay or on some surplus electronics web sites.
You should be able to find one with a Google search.
The new retail for this power supply is $120.00. We have seen them offered used and surplus for around $40.00.
Please be careful in your selection of a used power supply. We have had a few come through with a mechanical HUM. This is NOT the fault or responsibility of The BOLDER Cable Company. The power supplies are USED. We have no idea what they have been used for. They may have been dropped. Please ask your supplier to plug in the power supply before shipping it off to mods. Ask them to choose the quietest one.
The BOLDER Cable Company performs mods on the power supply. We DO NOT guarantee that a surplus power supply that we have been supplied with will not hum.
TO make ABSOLUTELY certain there will be no hum, you should have the supply tested by the seller or buy one brand new from Digi-Key for $120.00.
The ELPAC WM220-1 can output 5 volts DC @ 2amps.
The mods consist of disabling the 12 volt section. replacing the diodes in the 5 volt section with HexFREDs. Replacing all the capacitors with high quality, low ESR Panasonic and BlackGates.
The correct DC connector to fit the Squeeze Box is also installed.
We have compared this modded power supply directly to a modded ELPAC WM075-195 Wall Wart and do prefer the WM220-1.
It has a deeper tighter bass and more dynamics. The highs are also smoother. This is due,in part, to the larger transformer allowing more current transfer.
The WM220-1 also has more room inside to allow for larger, higher capacity, capacitors.
For the money, this is the modded PS we suggest.
It is not as good sounding as the Ultimate PS MKII, but it does not cost anywhere near as much.
Once again, BOLDER Cable DOES NOT sell the stock ELPAC.
You will have to locate one elsewhere. You can then place an order for the mods.
